A divergence occurs when there is a discrepancy between the price and a technical indicator. Most indicators are lagging, but a divergence is an effective and leading indicator of price movement. The most commonly used setup is the 'Classic or Regular Divergence' which is a reversal pattern. But there is another type of divergence, which is not commonly used - the Hidden Divergence. This setup offers greater potential since it determines an entry in the direction of the trend. A study of markets is a study in human psychology. After all, a market is the product of its participants, which are people. Humans herd and the result in matters of financial speculation is that the majority of people are wrong most of the time. In order to succeed as a speculator, you need to align yourself with the minority (not the majority) when the psychology of the market demands so. This presentation will focus on how to measure (even quantify) the psychological state of a market (FX) and trade accordingly.

Sam Seiden: Trade What Is Real, Not What You Feel: Quantifying Supply (resistance) and Demand (support) In The Forex Markets (Technical Analysis) Consistent low risk profits from Forex trading is a challenge many people take on, yet only a select few are ever able to attain. The objective and mechanical rules for consistent low risk profits are very simple, yet the layers of illusions keep most from ever seeing what is real in trading. The main forms of analysis in trading and investing are technical and fundamental/news analysis, and they are very real. However, thinking that mastering these forms of analysis will lead to consistent low risk profits is an illusion second to none. Trading strategies that work don’t change with time or changing market conditions. Quite frankly, to think market conditions ever change at all is a strong illusion that can only be removed when one focuses on the foundation of price movement: supply and demand. This alone, ultimately determines price.

During this event, we will discuss how to identify price levels where supply and demand are out of balance on a price chart, how to trade that opportunity back to balance, and how to turn mass trading illusion into opportunity.
